Ryan Stotland (President) has a bachelor's degree in Economics from Tufts University and a master's degree from Berklee College of Music in music business. Ryan has five years of experience in the financial industry first starting as a bond analyst. Ryan's main love is music and he started writing and releasing albums starting in 2008 during the the financial crisis which was the theme of his first album Recession Sessions. Recession Sessions was a favourite of Economics geeks and was featured on NPR and Freakonomics. Ryan's passion for music helps him understand the needs of the artist on a deeper level than just dollars and cents. His favourite genres are folk and hip hop where storytelling is the central aspect of the music.
Luca Balbo, half Belgian, half Italian and currently living in London, brings his passion and expertise of the music industry to Otimo Music. Luca Balbo cultivated his expertise in music publishing while working for Hal Leonard as a print licensing administrator. Prior to that he completed a master's degree at Berklee College of Music in music business where his thesis on country music in Europe was highly acclaimed. His mission: make sure that artists are fairly compensated for the use of their works.
